K2 Enterprises and Accounting Research, Inc. release survey data that confirms

the changing landscape of the accounting software mid-market.

San Francisco, Calif. – November 20, 2006 – Sage BusinessVision, a subsidiary of Sage Software, today announced that it’s Sage BusinessVision 7 accounting software solution has taken top honors in the 2006 Accounting Research/K2 Enterprises Accounting Software Survey, besting competitors such as Microsoft Great Plains, Sage MAS 90, Sage AccPac, and Open Systems.

Sage BusinessVision 7 ranked #1 in the Beginning Mid-Market category for the sixth consecutive year, and BusinessVision 7 Limited edition ranked #3 in this same category. Sage BusinessVision 7 SQL, a newcomer in the Middle Market segment, came in at an impressive third place, ahead of Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics, Microsoft Great Plains Solomon IV, and AccPac. The Microsoft Great Plains products have dominated the middle market since the mid-1990’s.

Earlier this year, Accounting Research and K2 released complete results from the 2006 survey.  The 2006 Accounting Software Survey provides detailed insight into the accounting software used by small and medium sized businesses.

The results of the 2006 Accounting Software Survey reflect the opinions of a significant cross section of the U.S. accounting and consulting community who sell, install and support accounting software.  While essentially a satisfaction survey for accounting software consultants, the 2006 survey rankings for Sage BusinessVision 7  point toward a growing demand for non-modular, real-time, highly robust, and reasonably priced accounting software solutions for the mid-market segment.

“Sage BusinessVision 7 has quickly established itself as a major contender in the U.S. accounting mid-market, and is just as quickly winning accolades from the consulting and reselling community,” said Carlton Collins of K2 Enterprises, the nation's leading provider of technology training to the CPA community. “The 2006 Accounting Software Survey is an important milestone in recognizing Sage BusinessVision, both as a developer that consultants want to do business with, and a product line that consultants and resellers want to offer their valued customers.”

“We are thrilled with the 2006 Survey results,” said Craig Downing, Vice President of Sage BusinessVision Division.  “Our contention that the U.S. accounting software market was ready for a reasonably priced mid-market solution that ships with 18 robust modules seems to have been confirmed by the Survey respondents. These results will certainly help us to continue to aggressively grow our U.S. business partner channel while maintaining the highest possible level of product technology and customer support.”

“There is a clear and growing demand in the small and mid-size market for Sage BusinessVision’s accounting solutions,” said James Young, President of Compu-Solutions, Sage BusinessVision's Premier California Business Partner, “The era of overpriced, module-by-module, implementation-heavy accounting software products is past. Sage BusinessVision’s growing success in the U.S. market, underscored by this week’s K2 Survey results, is good news for growing companies that need the right business management and accounting solution at the right price.”
